The Raspberry PI is a low cost device that can run Castmill perfectly. You can run it on all versions of RPI but the newest devices will able to play content more smoothly and allow for more videos to play simultaneously, so we recommend you to use the RPI 4 model B, but anything from RPI3 and above will work just fine.
You will need a RPI running the latest version of Raspberry Pi OS, and having it up-to-date connected to a display with keyboard and a mouse. If you need help installing Raspberry Pi OS just follow the instructions for "Raspberry Pi OS with desktop" here: https://www.raspberrypi.org/software/operating-systems/#raspberry-pi-os-32-bit.
If you find problems installing Raspberry PI OS or the castmilll player, do not hesitate to contact us at support@castmill.com
